Draft a project schedule and timeline
Now that you have completed the tasks necessary for operational planning for your repository project, you should be ready to develop a project schedule and timeline. Decide what staff members are to be assigned to each task and estimate how long each task will take to complete. Having a master schedule of all the components of the project will allow the project manager to monitor progress and keep the project moving forward. We have included a worksheet [PDF] to assist in developing a project schedule. We have also provided an early project plan from The Orange Grove [PDF] as an example. While this plan was altered and changed quiet a bit along the way, it will help to illustrate the myriad of things you must consider when planning your repository.
